Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have the right to select the shop that will repair my vehicle?
Since it is your vehicle, you have the right to take your vehicle to any shop that you choose. We recommend selecting a repair facility that will be an advocate for you! A shop that uses manufacturer recommended parts and repair procedures is recommended in order to assure the repairs are completed based on approved repair methods of the vehicle manufacturer.

How long will it take to repair my vehicle?
We understand it is never easy to be without your vehicle. Here at Royal Auto Works we strive to make it as simple and hassle free as possible. The time it will take to repair your vehicle is based on several factors such as the extent of the damage, insurance approval, and the availability of parts, to name a few. Hidden damage is also a factor that plays a part in how long it will take to have your vehicle back to you. Some damages are not able to be seen until your vehicle is brought into the shop and disassembled to be repaired.

What is a DRP or "Direct Repair" shop?
Direct repair shop is a preferred shop that works directly with your insurance company. Using the proper equipment, having certified technicians, and having a great record of satisfied customers are some of the ways shops become direct repair shops. The DRP or "Direct Repair" shop writes the estimates, orders the parts, and repairs your vehicle. There is no need to wait for an insurance adjuster to come out and look at your vehicle.

Do I have to pay a deductible?
The amount of a deductible and whether or not you have to pay a deductible depends on multiple factors. If you are going through your insurance provider and are found at fault you will have to pay your deductible that is determined by your insurance policy. If you are not at fault and you go through your insurance company you may still have to pay your deductible while fault is determined. If determined the other party is responsible your insurance company may waive your deductible (if vehicle is still being repaired or repairs haven't started) or they will reimburse you. If you are unsure of your deductible you can contact your agent and they will be able to let you know what it is. Royal Auto Works, Inc. is unable to waive your deductible, that would be considered insurance fraud. The deductible is to be paid to Royal Auto Works, Inc. once the repairs are completed. Payment must be made in full before we can release your vehicle back to you. Payments accepted are Visa, MasterCard, and Discover. ROYAL AUTOWORKS, INC. DOES NOT ACCEPT PERSONAL CHECKS, BUSINESS CHECKS, OR AMERICAN EXPRESS!

Will the parts be ordered before I drop off my vehicle for repairs?
Initial parts would be ordered after an estimate is written or received and approved from the insurance company and a scheduled repair date is made. Once the vehicle is dropped off for repairs and is disassembled, if there is hidden damage we will order the remainder of the parts then. If your vehicle is deemed non-drivable we would order parts as soon as we are able to disassemble the vehicle to check for underlying damage.

If the frame of my vehicle is damaged is it a total loss?
Not necessarily. A vehicle is deemed a total loss when the price of the repairs exceeds the value of your vehicle as determined by your insurance company. Most cars are built using unibody (frame and body as one) construction. Our highly skilled technicians, along with the aid of our state-of-the-art computer measuring system, can return your vehicle to its original factory specifications. If the frame is bent beyond repair the section can simply be replaced.

Can you match the paint color on my vehicle?
Yes, modern factory finishes incorporate multiple layers of highly specialized paints. Royal Auto Works has made a major investment in the finest paint system available and is constantly upgrading our technology and equipment to ensure that each vehicle's paint matches. For older vehicles with faded paint, the new paint will be shiny while the old paint on the other panels will be dull.

How can I get a rental car?
Insurance companies will only pay for a rental car if you have the option on your policy or if you are the claimant. To find out the coverage call your insurance company and they will be able to let you know if you have rental coverage and what your limitations are. Once you have an appointment date with the shop the insurance company can send a rental reservation over to the local Enterprise location.

How will I know when my vehicle repair is completed?
One of our employees will notify you by telephone once the repairs are complete on your vehicle.
